Statement of faith

We believe the Bible (the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, as written in the original languages) to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative and inerrant Word of God, which is completely sufficient as our only standard of living. (Psalm 19:7-11; II Timothy 3:14-17.)

We believe there is one God who, in the beginning, created the heavens and the earth and is eternally existent in three persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  (Genesis 1:1-2, 26; Colossians 1:15-16.)

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; His virgin birth, sinless life, and miracles; His vicarious and atoning death; His resurrection; His ascension to the right hand of God; and His personal return in power and glory.  (Isaiah 53; Philippians 2:5-11.)

We believe in the good news that God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He (even) gave up His only-begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. (John 3:16; Isaiah 55:1-7; Titus 3:3-7.)

We believe in the present and full ministry of the Holy Spirit.  He has come to convict the world of guilt and indwell every Christian, enabling them to be a witness and live a godly life. (Joel 2:28-32; Acts 2:1-47.)

We believe in the resurrection and judgment of both the living and the dead; they that are saved to eternal life; those that are lost to eternal punishment. (Ecclesiastes 12:1-14; I Corinthians 15:1-58.)

We believe in the biblical family as well as the church of Jesus Christ, which is the pillar and foundation of the truth.  They are the fundamental building blocks of civilization, both having been established by God to reflect His image, fill the earth with His life, and rule over His creation. (Genesis 1:27-31; Ephesians 5:22-33.)

We believe that Christians have a mandate to impact the culture in which they live by being a transforming influence in every area of human life.  We have been commissioned to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and make disciples of all the nations.  This is to begin at home in our own families, then to our communities and ultimately around the world.  (Matthew 5:13-16.)
